RING SIZING

Our team can help determine your ring size and adjust your ring to fit!

HOW DOES RING SIZING WORK?

Rings are sized on a standardized scale, similar to standard clothing sizes. However, a women’s size 6 ring may vary slightly on the fit from brand to brand (or jeweler to jeweler) just like in clothing. The US and Canada use a numerical scale including whole, half and quarter sizes, whereas other countries commonly follow an alphabetical scale.

The styling of the ring is also important to consider when having a ring resized larger or smaller. We determine the pricing and time it will take for ring resizing based on which of three categories the ring falls in: a basic ring sizing, an intermediate ring sizing or a complex ring resizing. View our guide below for examples of each type of ring sizing.

ENGAGEMENTS & SURPRISES!

How to secretly find your partner's ring size.

So you’ve decided to propose or surprise your partner with an engagement ring - fantastic! Now you need to figure out what size ring to get without ruining the surprise. See our tips below for ways to find their ring size without them knowing:

Mom knows best.

Ask your partner’s Mom or best friend. Sometimes their parents or closest friends know this information from buying previous gifts or your partner may have even told them to give you a hint! They may also be able to find out under another pretense, such as buying a birthday gift or passing down a family ring.

Raid the jewelry box.

Borrow one of your partner’s rings and bring it with you on your store visit. Our jewelers can help you determine the size. This will probably get you in the right ballpark, but will be most accurate if you can borrow a ring of theirs that is worn on the exact finger that you want the engagement ring to be worn on.

Make an educated guess.

If no information is available to you, use statistics to help! The average woman’s ring size is 6-6.5, and the average men’s ring size is 9-10. When in doubt, go for a larger ring size. Not only is it easier to resize rings to be smaller, but you also want to be able to slide the ring onto your partner’s finger when proposing, even if it’s a little too loose!

Still not sure? No problem! We can work with you to help you figure out the best possible fit for an engagement or wedding ring! Any information you can provide on your visit will help us to figure out the best solution. We also offer Custom Design Services to help you design your unique dream ring!
